About the Project

Welcome to the Writings of Geerhardus Vos project.  The goal of this website is to make available all of the uncollected works of Geerhardus Vos that are written in English.  The site began because, finding it humorous that Vos wrote a review of one of his own books, Jason Kirklin posted it online.  Many people suggested that more reviews be posted.  Phil Hodson then graciously offered to provide the domain.

Thanks are due to James T. Dennison, Jr., academic dean of Northwest Theological Seminary, for his permission to use his bibliography of Vos's writings in modified form, to Rev. Danny Olinger, editor of A Geerhardus Vos Anthology, for supplying the majority of the texts that appear here, and to Emily Sirinides in the library at Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia, for supplying various reviews as well as clear copies when needed.

Additionally, thanks must be given to P&R Publishing.  P&R publishes The Eschatology of the Old Testament, The Self-Disclosure of Jesus, The Pauline Eschatology, Redemptive History and Biblical Interpretation: The Shorter Writings of Geerhardus Vos, and A Geerhardus Vos Anthology.  This last title consists of various articles and book reviews that are in the public domain.  P&R has very graciously allowed us to scan from this book rather than hunting down the various primary sources, and for this we are indeed grateful.

All original Greek and Hebrew in the html files has been transliterated for ease of use.

Our desire is that those who read Vos's works would be edified and grow in heavenly-mindedness, which, at its root, is "the thirst of the soul after God, the living God" (Grace and Glory, p. 122).
